Alamo Landscape Curbing

The Process

An Alamo Landscape Curbing Estimator / Designer will meet with you at your home to review your proposed curbing project area. We'll supply you with our knowledge and ideas and work with you to come up with the best design layout possible. We will then measure your area and give you a written estimate. If you would like to discuss a schedule at this time, we will then find a date that is best to start the project.

Please keep sprinklers, in the area, off the day prior to your installation date. Alamo Landscape Curbing is not responsible for damage to buried items or to unmarked sprinkler heads. With that in mind, be sure to plainly mark all sprinkler heads, telephone wires, cable tv, and other buried items. Also, please be prepared to provide access to your job site and keep pets indoors for the duration of the installation.

We will install your beautiful new curbing using the highest quality materials and equipment. The concrete mix is measured precisely for a constant color throughout the project. Actual finished color is very close to the color chart but a small variation in every project can be expected. This is normal because of the color pigments for concrete that are used. (Like carpet, they have a color to go by, but each dye lot is a little different.) Your beautiful extruded curb is set to cure.

Please keep pets, children, and objects away from the curb for at least 24 to 36 hours. Although, the curbing will be hard at this point, it still needs several days to fully cure. Sod laying, sprinkler and other landscape work can be started 48-72 hours after installation, however, caution must be taken as shovels, picks, and wheelbarrows can damage the curb for several more days, as a full cure requires a month or more, depending on weather. If you have a landscape contractor working for you, caution them about protecting the curb from damage. If wheelbarrows are used to haul material over the curb, put a mound of dirt over it (at least 6" deep) or build a ramp over the curb to keep the weight from cracking or damaging it. NEVER allow a tractor, bobcat, or truck to run over the curb. If it begins to rain within 6 hours after we leave the job, try to cover the curb with plastic. Make sure sprinklers do NOT come on for at least 48 hours following curb installation. Irrigation, backwash from pools, and rain can damage the curb during the first 48 hours. If the curbing is damaged we will come back and make the necessary repairs, however, there is a $100.00 minimum charge for this service. Curbing with any type of concrete can and will crack. We make control cuts every 18" to 24" and we experience very little cracking outside of these controlled cuts. (A cut is with a very thin blade about half way into the curb.)

Alamo Landscape Curbing offers a one year warranty against defects in materials or workmanship. It will be replaced at no charge if the defect is caused by the materials we used or the way it was installed by our workmen.
