Alamo Landscape Curbing

Maintaining your Curbing

Landscape concrete curbs require very little maintenance, but precautions are important after installation. You have made the extraordinary choice to use custom concrete curbing in your landscape project. Here are some tips to keep it looking at its best:

  • It is very important not to wet the new curbing the first few hours following installation.

  • Keep in mind, the curbing will be vulnerable to foot traffic the first 12 – 24 hours.

  • We recommend that you do not mow next to your new curb for 3 - 4 days when mowing your lawn.

  • During the first month after installation, do not allow metal objects, like steel rakes and garden tools, to come in contact with the new curb.

  • When mowing your grass and doing edging, take care that contact is not made with metal blades. We recommend a string type trimmer to do the edging.

  • Don’t drive vehicles over landscape curbing, as this will crack the curbing away from the control cuts.

  • Use caution when applying sealers to the curbing, as they may potentially kill your grass.

With common sense, your curbing can retain its beauty and elegance for many years to come. A coat of sealer every one to two years will help to retain your continuous curbs’ unique properties. (Call us and we will give you an estimate for this service.)

We do guarantee our work and under normal conditions, if there are any unusual amounts of cracks in the curb, we will replace it at no cost to the homeowner.
